Tilen Slakan (*1993) is a Slovenian composer of the younger generation whose artistic repertoire primarily encompasses orchestral, chamber, and choral works. A significant part of his artistic opus also includes arrangements and orchestrations for various ensembles across diverse musical styles.

Slakan began his musical journey at the Risto Savin Žalec Music School, where he started learning to play the trumpet and piano. He continued his musical education at the Art Gymnasium in Velenje and was subsequently admitted to the Academy of Music in Ljubljana, where he completed his master’s degree in composition and music theory under the mentorship of Prof. Marko Mihevc. He is currently pursuing his doctoral studies at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana under the mentorship of Dr. Andrej Misson in the field of music theory and composition.

As a professor, he is employed at the Art Gymnasium in Velenje and as an assistant professor at the Faculty of Education in Maribor, in the music pedagogy program, specializing in score reading and basso continuo.
